When it comes to Egypt ETF or Egyptian ETFs or exchange traded funds currently trading on U.S. stock exchanges there is currently only one dedicated Egypt ETF that trades under ticker (EGPT). On Feb 18, 2010, Van Eck Global launched the Market Vectors Egypt Index ETF which is the first US traded Egypt ETF. The stock market in Egypt has been growing at a rapid pace and the fact that Egypt represents a very promising Emerging Stock Market. Given the high level of interest in Emerging Stock Markets, we expect that there will shortly be more Egypt ETFs sponsored by major international ETF providers. Several large Egyptian listed stocks are listed on the London Stock Exchange as GDRs or Global Depositary Receipts.

Other ETFs that invest in Egypt: SPDR S&P Emerging Middle East & Africa (AMEX:GAF) has only a small fraction invested in Egypt. Invesco launched a Powershares MENA ETF in July 2008 that has a portion invested in Egypt. (NASDAQ: PMNA)
